What it is about

Joseph LeDoux traces how the brain detects threat, forms emotional memories, and produces bodily responses before conscious interpretation is complete. His work on fear circuitry separates automatic defensive systems from the later experience and narration of feeling. I keep it on this shelf because I want to be slower before I turn a feeling into a verdict.
